Both volumes have light soiling on covers, backstrips darker than front and back covers, wear at top and bottom of backstrip including several tiny tears, a previous owners bookplate on front pastedown, vol. 1 rear board pierced with sm. hole, which penetrates to p564 (above text block) vol.2 front hinge beginning to loosen (taped). There is a shadow of a p.o.name to fr. pastedowns. The paper in both volumes is in very good condition. xliii, [1], 624; xxvii, [1], 732pp +44pp. pubs. adverts.
